You  might already  know that I live in the US most of the time these days, but I currently have the opportunity of spending time in my native language country – Sweden – for a whole year (July 2012 – August 2013). While I was in the US I kept up on my language by reading Swedish books, speaking Swedish every day, listening to Swedish radio and reading newspapers in Swedish. I also went back to Sweden ever year and stayed as long as possible, but being back for a whole year is of course invaluable. While in Sweden I have taken and will take courses in Swedish grammar, writing and proofreading. I have also discovered a few online resources where I find a lot of tips and answers to linguistic questions for the Swedish language. Here are some of them:

Terminologicentrum – the Swedish National Center for Terminology and Technical Language – training, news, terminology questions and answers

Språkbanken – the Swedish Language Bank – resources, research, publications and terminology

Språkkonsulterna – provides consulting services for the Swedish language, plus a great blog

Språkrådet – The Swedish Language Institute – language nurturing, plain language, questions and answers, new words
