Marta Stelmaszak, a Polish – English translator and interpreter has produced and published a free e-book on how to create a CV that works for the translation industry, an updated version of the very popular “Curriculum Vitae that works in the translation industry”. After receiving her degree in translation, Marta has continually studied marketing and management and is sharing her knowledge through the “Business School for Translators”.

In “You need a CV that works”, Marta is giving detailed information on why we need a CV, the purpose of the CV, common mistakes when writing a CV, and detailed descriptions and advice on what to include on a CV for translators. She also gives recommendations on online CV’s, a good layout, and includes some tips from translation companies. Finally she also takes up how to write a cover letter for the CV and answers some questions she has received from translators from the first edition of her e-book. Perhaps one of the best features to get translators started is a printable checklist at the end, so there really is no excuse for any translator not to create a really professional looking CV for their freelance translation business any more. All the information you need is there, for free, and Marta shares it in a very clear and instructional way. Thank you Marta for this contribution to the translation industry!
